The Role
Assistant Manager (Risk Finance- NGT) at NDMA Islamabad, supporting technology-enabled risk finance, climate finance and economic modeling for the NGT unit. Contract post on lump-sum package (equivalent to PPS-7) for an initial 24 months.
•Assist in identifying risk retention and risk transfer instruments that use NGT data (satellite, hydromet, early warning) and in preparing business plans •Compile and clean hazard, exposure and loss datasets to support trigger design, back-testing and basis-risk analysis for parametric instruments •Assist in drafting concept notes and mapping stakeholders for product design and implementation •Support the Unit in the GCF accreditation process •Assist the Deputy Manager in developing bankable concept notes for NGT investments from alternative climate finance windows •Support conversion of at least one concept note within the first year into a full-fledged proposal •Assist in building economic models of disaster impacts on sectors and cost-benefit analyses of NGT investments •Maintain risk-finance dashboards and data visualizations for management and donor briefings •Help review policy and legal instruments on disaster management, climate change and data sharing •Assist in generating at least two knowledge products (Unit Working Papers) •Support the organization of knowledge events and sessions with key stakeholders •Support liaison with NGT technical teams, data providers and partner organizations, and maintain records of meetings and follow-ups •Perform any other task assigned by the competent authority

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (16 Years): Finance, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Disaster Management
- MS / MPhil: Finance, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Disaster Management
Familiarity with Pakistan's climate and disaster risk finance landscape Preferred: Experience in relevant field; exposure to GIS or remote-sensing data
Python, R, Advanced Excel, Communication
Preferred: GIS
•Posts are purely on contract basis for an initial period of 24 months (extendable), filled on open merit •Selected candidates must serve for a minimum period of 18 months
