The Role

Suraj is hiring a Manager Commercial (Raw Cotton/ Yarn Import) at its Head Office in Lahore to source and import raw cotton and yarn and manage the full import process.

•Source and procure raw cotton (local and international origins) to meet quality specifications and production schedules •Identify, evaluate, develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with international cotton suppliers, traders and merchants •Review, negotiate and manage purchase contracts covering quantity, grade, staple length, micronaire, strength, contamination limits and other quality parameters •Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, shipment schedules, delivery conditions and Incoterms •Liaise effectively with banks, freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping lines and vendors throughout the import process •Monitor raw material market trends, price fluctuations, supply risks, geopolitical factors and cost-saving opportunities; provide timely insights and recommendations to management •Manage the full Letter of Credit (LC) lifecycle, including application, opening, amendments, document scrutiny, discrepancy handling and retirement •Oversee complete trade documentation, shipment tracking, customs clearance (WeBOC/ PSW) and import cost control •Maintain accurate records, prepare regular reports on procurement performance, inventory positions, costs and market intelligence
