The Role

Shifa International Hospitals Ltd. is hiring a Lab Technologist- Flow Cytometry for its Laboratory department at Shifa International Hospital, H-8, Islamabad.

•Perform routine laboratory tests as assigned, using manual techniques and automated instruments under supervision •Prepare specimens for analysis including centrifugation, aliquoting, labelling and appropriate storage •Assist in the preparation and running of QC samples as directed by the supervisor and document results accurately •Enter test results and patient data into the LIS accurately; complete all bench worksheets and documentation before end of shift •Identify and immediately escalate critical or highly abnormal results to the supervising officer •Perform basic instrument maintenance and cleaning as per schedule; record activities in the maintenance log •Maintain cleanliness, order and safety compliance of the assigned workstation •Assist technicians with specimen reception, sorting and basic processing tasks as required •Adhere to all sample identification, pre-analytical SOP and rejection criteria requirements •Report all errors, incidents and near-misses to the supervisor without delay •Comply with all PPE, biological safety and infection control requirements •Participate in training sessions, orientation activities and competency assessments •Work any shift as required by the laboratory schedule •Any additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department
