The Role
Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital is hiring a Surgeon (Ophthalmology) for its Nationwide Outreach Camp programme, based in Rawalpindi, to perform high-volume cataract surgeries at outreach camp sites.
•Perform safe, high-volume cataract surgeries (30- 40 surgeries/ day) under strict aseptic conditions at outreach camp sites •Review patient records, verify biometry, ensure signed consent, administer local anesthesia and counsel patients on outcomes •Inspect OT aseptic conditions, verify proper sterilization and instrument functionality and ensure required IOL powers are available •Examine post-op patients prior to discharge and conduct 1st post-op day evaluations, guiding patients on post-operative care and medication
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
- Professional Master's Degree: Ophthalmology
- Postgraduate Diploma: Ophthalmology
•Completed residency in ophthalmology •Demonstrated capability to perform 30- 40 cataract surgeries per day
