The Role
Research Associate (Genetic Counsellor- Assistant) in the AKU Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Karachi, with clinical, academic and educational roles centred around Genomic Medicine.
•To be responsible for clinical, academic, and educational roles centred around Genomic Medicine •To assist the genetic physician/ counsellor in Prenatal/ Perinatal, Paediatric and Adult Genetics clinics •To conduct various analyses of Genomic data collected from clinical practice and various research collaborations •To draft high-quality research proposals for funding agencies; conduct research and contribute to publications and manuscripts •To build academic collaborations for Disease-Specific Genomics and Public Health Genomics research •To engage with medical students, trainees and faculty for educational sessions and workshops focusing on the basics and emerging trends in Genomics

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (16 Years): Human Genetics
- Masters: Human Genetics
1-2 years of work experience preferably in a relevant field; experience in NGS data interpretation and basic knowledge of bioinformatics; experience with patient management and genetics in clinical settings
