E&IH and Sustainability Engineer

The Role

Engro is hiring an E&IH and Sustainability Engineer in Karachi to provide guidance and support on Environment and Industrial Hygiene management, achieving consistent HSE management across Engro Business Units in line with international standards.

•Possess and maintain up-to-date environment and industrial hygiene/ occupational health (IH/ OH) management expertise as applicable to Engro BU facilities •Identify and document environment (air emissions, water discharges, groundwater, solid waste) and IH/ OH (dust, asbestos, VCM, noise, radiation) hazards in Engro BU operations •Develop and implement Level 1 environment and IH/ OH standards in line with the most stringent national and international standards (e.g. SEPA, ISO 14001, EPA, NIOSH), provincial regulations and RAGEGP •Facilitate and support the inclusion of environment and IH/ OH requirements in new project scopes, i.e. ESIA and HRA •Conduct 2nd party audits to measure the effectiveness of L1 environment and IH/ OH standards implementation by BUs, and follow up on timely close-out of action items •Maintain Engro-wide environment and IH/ OH performance statistics, report them as KPIs, analyze trends and recommend corrective actions •Develop communication packs for sharing with Engro BUs and the Engro Board •Manage the functionality of the VelocityEHS MIS platform, ensure correct use by BUs and troubleshoot operational issues through IT •Prepare the annual budget and capex proposals for Group HSE activities and oversee expenses to prevent overruns •Assist in preparing Engro's annual Sustainability Report with the Corporate Sustainability team, developing data collection matrices and verifying sustainability data from all BUs •Ensure the report's content and metrics align with recognized frameworks such as IFRS, GRI, SASB, WEF Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics and TCFD recommendations
