The Role

Head of Internal Audit at Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), on contract, responsible for planning and implementing the annual audit plan and reporting to the Audit Committee and Chairman PNSC.

•Ensure compliance with sound internal auditing principles and best practices and seek guidance from the standards issued by international standard setting bodies •Ensure due professional care in carrying out audit assignments and maintain integrity and objectivity •Formulate an annual audit plan in consultation with the Audit Committee and maintain an Audit Universe covering the main auditable units and Risks Assessment Criteria for selection of audit projects •Implement the annual audit plan along with any special tasks or projects entrusted by the Board of Directors, assigned by the Audit Committee or requested by Chairman PNSC •Render reports on audit findings and conclusions to the concerned departments/ divisions •Submit periodical reports to the Audit Committee summarizing results of audit activities and keep Chairman PNSC and the Audit Committee abreast of important findings and recommendations •Undertake consulting services when required by Chairman PNSC, provided they do not impair the independence of the internal audit function •Assist in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities and notify the results to Chairman PNSC and the Audit Committee •Handle documents and information given to IAD by other departments in a prudent manner •Make internal audit reports available to external auditors as and when demanded and inform the Audit Committee
