The Role

Support sustainability, ESG reporting, climate strategy and mine closure planning at the Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, Tharparkar.

•Support implementation of leading sustainability frameworks and standards, including IFRS S1/ S2, GRI, SASB, TSM, IFC Performance Standards, AWS and relevant ESG requirements •Coordinate sustainability data collection, validation, KPI tracking, dashboards, disclosures and evidence for audits and external assurance •Support climate strategy, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions accounting, decarbonization initiatives, emissions intensity reduction, energy efficiency and target monitoring •Evaluate opportunities related to carbon credits, carbon markets, offsets, removals and nature-based climate solutions •Support development and implementation of mine closure, progressive rehabilitation, land restoration and post-closure sustainability plans •Coordinate biodiversity, ecosystem restoration, plantation and nature-positive initiatives linked with mine rehabilitation and closure •Support water stewardship initiatives, including water-risk assessment, beneficial water use, water efficiency and alignment with AWS principles •Assist in development of short-, medium- and long-term sustainability targets, action plans and performance improvement initiatives •Conduct benchmarking against global mining companies and identify emerging sustainability practices, standards and regulatory trends •Support preparation of sustainability reports, management and Board presentations, external disclosures, technical papers and stakeholder communications •Coordinate sustainability audits, TSM verification, ESG assessments, certifications and closure of related action items •Work with Operations, Finance, Engineering, Community, HSE and other functions to integrate sustainability considerations into business planning and decision-making
