The Role

Speech Therapist in the Physiotherapy Department of Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, delivering speech therapy to patients including in home settings through Outreach Services.

•Assess patients in their home settings and develop and deliver individual speech therapy treatment programmes •Formulate treatment and exercise plans enabling patients to achieve treatment goals •Write patient assessment and progress notes according to hospital policy •Educate and advise patients and families on preventing and improving conditions •Participate in in-house training programmes, tutorials and individual training sessions •Ensure continuous professional development •Comply with departmental policies and organisational quality standards •Respect patient safety, privacy and confidentiality at all times •Ensure safe and competent use of speech therapy equipment, appliances and aids •Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies for treating patients •Contribute to developing and implementing speech and language therapy programmes for outreach and home-based services
